2 Corinthians 9-10 | The Law of Sowing and Reaping
God has set certain things in motion in His universe. One of these is the law of sowing and reaping in terms of our giving. What is true in agriculture (which we understand easily) is true of stewardship and generosity (which we don't understand very well!), as seen in 2 Corinthians 9.
We would be wise to know and cooperate with God’s laws for the sower (the giver).
1. You always reap if you sow.
2. If you sow sparingly, you reap sparingly; bountifully, you'll reap bountifully.
3. You always reap MORE than you sow
4. You always reap LATER than you sow
5. God loves a cheerful giver/sower
6. God provides ALL SUFFICIENCY IN EVERYTHING for the sower.
7. God loves to supply and MULTIPLY seed for sowing
8. Faithful sowing increases the harvest of RIGHTEOUSNESS
9. Liberal sowing produces thanksgiving to God by others.
You can ignore these laws, or bless yourself, others, and glorify God by cooperating with these laws. It’s our choice! God owns all the money in the world, and He is generous! He wants it in circulation to bless us, bless others, and glorify Him.
Father, thank You for the laws you’ve set in motion and the privilege of joining You in generosity. Open our hands so we can be used to bless others and show the world Your heart.
