Deuteronomy 6-7 | Out And In

He brought us out from there to bring us in, to give us the land which He had sworn to our fathers. (Deuteronomy 6:23)

God always has an agenda that is perfect in every detail. If we are willing to follow Him, we will be privileged to join in this great movement.

OUR SPIRITUAL ANCESTORS

… experienced this. God chose the nation of Israel to experience His movements. One of the greatest moments of their history was their deliverance from the bondage of Egypt. This miracle occurred in ways that the Israelites should have never forgotten.

But we are all great forgetters. God warns them over and over again to remember. They were to remember His deliverance, but there was more. God had “brought them out” of Egypt to “bring them in” to the Promised Land. There were going from something to something better. It is the principle of spiritual replacement.

YOUR JOURNEY WITH GOD

If you trust Him and follow the prompting of His Spirit and the illumination of His Word, you will find the same principle in play. You are led from sin to righteousness. From defeat to victory. From tragedy to deliverance. From the enemy’s plan to steal, kill, and destroy, to life and life abundantly, as Jesus said in John 10:10.

Every step of our spiritual journey is designed to take us from something to something greater. Even the final chapter of this earthly life is from the bondage of this world to the glories of heaven.

We must never forget when God is taking something away from us, it is so that something better can be given in its place. Don’t hold on to the leeks and onions of Egypt when God has promised the milk and honey of the Promised Land.

Father, thank You for the perfection of Your work in me. Help me to trust You more. Deliver me from the small thing that what I have and where I am is the best. Help me understand that there is always more with You and give me a joyful faith to follow.
