Mark 16 | Physical Proof
And he said to them, “Do not be amazed; you are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who has been crucified. He has risen; He is not here; behold, here is the place where they laid Him. But go, tell His disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see Him, just as He told you.’” (Mark 16:6-7)
God the Father has chosen to save men from their sins. In order to accomplish this amazing feat, He sent His Son to live among us in human flesh. As Christ came, John said that “We beheld His glory, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).
To pay the penalty for our sins and purchase our pardon from sin, Jesus physically went to the cross. Thousands of people watched this and reported the fact. For three days they thought it was over as He lay in the tomb. But on the third day, He rose again.
People came and saw the empty tomb. If the Romans or the Pharisees wanted to disprove the resurrection, it would have been simple: just produce Christ’s physical body. The whole story of Christ, His death, burial, and resurrection would collapse.
But this was real. And the physical proof of an empty tomb and the resurrected body of Jesus appearing to hundreds proved it. “You will see Him, just as He told you,” explained the reality and proved that everything Christ had said was true.
On this physical basis we believe in Him and His promises. He is alive! And now we can go tell others!
